Dr. Ken McHardy – Taisho Award

During the NKF karate championships in Cults on Saturday, November 11th, Dr Ken McHardy was promoted to OSS Taisho for services to the J.J. R. Macleod Statue Association and his contribution to Aberdeen’s medical history. Lord Provost David Cameron presented the award, announced by John Otto OSS Taisho, founder of the Macleod Statue Society. The OSS founding president, Ronnie Watt Hanshi OBE ORS, awarded the prize.
JJR Macleod was awarded the Nobel Prize for medicine and is credited as the co-discoverer of Insulin; his discovery, to date, has been estimated to have saved over 300 million people worldwide.
