Lord Charles Bruce

Lord Charles Bruce, 12th Earl of Elgin, a descendant of Scotland’s national hero King Robert The Bruce. It was another ancestor of Lord Charles Bruce who negotiated the 1853 Treaty of Amity and Commerce between Japan and Great Britain, due to which Thomas Blake Glover made his way to Japan.

Lord Charles Bruce is the Honorary Patron of the Japan Society of Scotland.
